Mary Ann Shannon, Md was born in Chicago, Illinois. Following high school, she entered the University of Illinois with a double major in mathematics and chemistry.
Dr. Shannon attended Northwestern University Medical School. She did a rotating internship at the University of Minnesota, completing her orthopedic residency as the first female graduate from that institution. She later joined Hand Surgery Associates and completed a hand fellowship at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Shannon is a founding member of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society and completed her Board Certification in 1989. She is also a Board Certified Independent Medical Examiner and a Nevada State Rating Physician.
Dr. Shannon moved to the Las Vegas Area in 1992 and has been practicing here since.
